Our manufacturing of Leighs Chop is back up and running. And one of our most popular items is Leighs Senior Chop, low sugar, high fibre forage suitable for all horses.
It is a blend of dried grass, straw and hay lightly coated with molasses. It is particularly suitable for the older horse and horses with poor dentition. The grass and chaff has been cut shorter making a forage which is very soft and easier to eat and digest.
It is recommended by equine dental technicians as it is only lightly molassed and provides an ideal alternative fibre source.
Leighs Senior feeding recommendations are:
- Like any new feed Senior Chop should be introduced gradually over a few days.
- Fresh, clean water should always be available when feeding.
- If using a total fibre replacement for aged horses with irreparable dentition please seek advice.
